Television is Good for You! (Imran)
There is always this debate if
television is beneficial or detrimental. The emergence of a television in our
household is a norm for half a century now. In fact, where else would the
couches in our living room would be pointed at other than the television? To answer
the question if it brings good or bad to us depends on how we use it. Inevitably,
television brings us a lot of benefits in our day-to-day life.
Television
is a good medium to convey messages since everyone uses it or at least a vast
majority. Important government messages can be relayed to inform the public if
any endemic happens. News that are broadcast also give information to the
viewers on any recent local and global updates that might be important to them.
Because of this, viewers are well informed of what is happening around them in
real-time unbounded by regional boundaries.
Educational
content is also broadcasted on television. Now everyone has access to
educational content. It provides the views with general knowledge that is
useful in their day-to-day life. It also acts as a catalyst for young children
to dream on what they want to be in the future. We never know what would come
out in the television and sometimes something we didn’t expect to learn is
broadcasted.
In
conclusion, we cannot really see any drawbacks from watching television. Even
if you binge watch it, still it makes you happy. Isn’t that positive? If we do
it in moderation, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. That is why it is still
here for more than half a century.
