Recently, I’ve read a personal blog that wrote about all sectors of the population of a country should celebrate the same festivals. Frankly speaking, I was a bit disagree with the statement at first. As for me, a festival is something that has become a tradition to a certain population group. After further reading the blog, I realised that I was wrong. With that, I would say celebrating the same festival is something that we should do.
Personally, I think that festival is a celebration that could say a lot about the group of people who celebrates it. That is the time where they can get together. For example, in an Asian country Malaysia, the Malay Muslims celebrate Hari Raya and that is when they usually go back to their hometown and cook traditional food. However, as time passes by the celebration has become a country-wide celebration in which all races dress and get together like a family would do in Hari Raya. Therefore, we can see that celebrating the same festival could let the people of different races, get to know each other’s tradition better.
Next, celebrating the same festival eliminate the hatred or conflicts among different groups of people. In other words, it brings people together. For instance, in the US Halloween is celebrated together regardless your age, and skin colour. During Halloween, usually, the parents will bring their kids to neighbors house for a ‘trick or treat’ where they collect candies. Despite making the kids happy, the adults in the neighborhood get to mingle and improve the relationship with each other.

As a conclusion, I agree with the idea that all sectors of the population of a country should celebrate the same festivals.  This is because, festivals could bring people together despite their races, skin colours and religions
