TV: is it educational?

Television is another form of technology that helps us to connect with the world. Before the existence of TV, it was hard for the past generation to know any news related to the world issues. Nowadays, television may help us with getting to know about any news but it also brings an educational way of learning through the TV shows.

Watching television can be educational because it is a way of learning that is interactive especially for little kids. This is because lots of TV shows such as Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse teach the kids on alphabet and numbers in form of dancing and singing. Learning through this way will be more attractive for the kids and these TV shows also can improve the kids' reading readiness before entering preschool. Thus, TV shows is an appropriate medium for little kids to gain a new knowledge.

However, television also can make us lose track of reality. We tend to stick to the TV screen waiting until the TV shows are over. Then, when we get overly addictive to it, we keep telling ourselves to watch just another one show and when the next show ends we keep telling ourselves the same thing. This cycle goes on and on and during that particular of time, we stop all our work just for the particular show. Without our conscious somehow the television has rules our lives and lots of time wasted when there are so many things can be done.

In conclusion, television could bring different implications to the consumer depends on how we use it. One must know how to limit the usage of television as it might bring to negative effects that can harm their life.
